Lalit Modi, Vasundhara Raje changed govt property into personal one: Congress

New Delhi, June 29 (IBNS): The Congress party on Monday presented documents to not only establish business relationship between Lalit Modi and Vasundhara Raje but also alleged that the former IPL commissioner and the Rajasthan Chief Minister converted a government property into a personal one
Speaking at a press conference, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ask for resignation from Raje.

"First thing which has been established that fugitive Lalit Modi and Raje are business partners. Second fact which has been established that fugitive Lalit Modi got Rs 21 Crore from Mauritius and invested in Dushyant Singh's Company. Third fact that has been established that Vasundhara Raje signed a 7 Page Document for UK Authorities to abet fugitive Lalit Modi," said Ramesh.

"There have been three lies, three cover ups by BJP and Vasundhara Raje. Today, we are exposing the fourth fact of this 'Dhararavahik' (daily soap). Today, we present you the documents where Lalit Modi and Vaundhara Raje has changed a government property into a personal property," said he.

He said the magnitude of quid pro quo, financial relationship between Rajasthan CM and her fugitive friend as well as partner Lalit Modi are getting unearthed everyday.

"On 10.04.1954,Dholpur Riyasat merged with Union of India in Independent India & in 1977 Dholpur Mahal was made government property. Even Vasundhara Raje herself had admitted this fact that Dholpur property was owned by Rajasthan government," Ramesh said.

He said Lalit Modi and Raje converted the government property into a personal one.

"Governmental property was converted to personal assets by Lalit Modi and Vasundhara Raje. We sadly have to state that Vasundhara Raje's husband in 1980 made a statement saying Dholpur Mahal belongs to the government," he alleged.

"Despite Dholpur City Palace being property of government, Raje and Modi proceeded to convert it into a high-end private luxury hotel," said he.

Targetting PM Modi, Ramesh said, "I urge Narendra modi to ask for Raje's resignation. We don't want any probe being converted on her. All evidences against are here. All we want is to get her removed from her post."

The BJP government at the Centre is hit by a controversy which involve the names of External Affairs Minister  Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje for allegedly helping former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi's  application for immigration to the UK in 2011.

Since the news came to surface, Oppositions are demanding the resignations of the two BJP bigwigs from their respective posts.
