Srinagar, Jun 28 (IBNS): Releasing pictures of four suspects, Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday said Pakistani terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has executed the assassination plot of journalist Shujaat Bhukari, media reports said.

The police said the murder conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan.

Just two days before Eid al-Fitr, journalist Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead outside his office by terrorists in Srinagar.

Bukhari, Chief Editor of Rising Kashmir, was killed by three men.

Two of Bukhari’s PSOs were also killed in the attack.

On Wednesday, the J&K police claimed to have identified two of the killers of Bukhari, editor of Rising Kashmir.

The IGP has been quoted by The Times Of India, "We have tangible evidence to establish that the conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan. The evidence we have in cooperation with service providers is that they belong to Pakistan."

Police said that the Pakistani militant involved in the attack is Naveed Jatt, who escaped from police custody from Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in February this year. Naveed, a Pakistani national, is associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

Police have also reportedly identified the Pakistan-based blogger who had “started a smear campaign” against Bukhari. They say the blogger is a militant from Srinagar, who is settled in Pakistan.
