LeT militant killed in Kashmir gunfight

Srinagar, Aug 8 (IBNS) : Security forces shot dead a Pakistani national belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group on Sunday night in Samboora area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

According to reports, army and police cordoned off the area after having inputs about presence of some militants hiding in the Samboora area.

Reports further said that when forces zeroed in on a house where the militants were hiding, shots were fired from inside leading to a fierce gunfight.

The gun battle ended around 3 am ad the body of Lashkar militant, a resident of Pakistan, was recovered. 

Two militants are believed to have escaped from the house.
