Light rain in Delhi, air stays 'poor'

New Delhi/UNI: The national capital on Tuesday received light rains in the first half of the day at several areas maintaining the cold weather conditions here.

The sky was generally cloudy through the day, while there is a possibility of drizzle and light rain towards the night.

The temperature in the evening was 17.4 degrees C at around 7PM with a wind speed of 7.5 km per hour, according to the Met Department.

According to the Met Office, the maximum temperature on Tuesday settled at 19 degrees C, while rainfall received on Tuesday was 0.9 mm, the weatherman added.

Meanwhile, with the increased wind speed and the rain air quality witnessed a slight improvement in the city and was now under the 'poor' category compared to Monday's 'very poor'.

The air quality index in the evening was 255 at around 6PM, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

For Wednesday, the weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky with thunderstorm and hail, while the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 17 and 12 degrees C, respectively.
