New Delhi/UNI: Social distancing, being followed in India with some other countries post Covid-19, is likely to be 'experienced' during the Monsoon session of Parliament-expected to be convened in July.

According to sources, the ensuing session of Parliament, after the Budget session was curtailed due to outbreak of the pandemic, may witness Lok Sabha vacating it's chamber for Rajya Sabha and moving it's proceedings to the Central Hall.

With a sitting capacity of around 800, Central Hall can accommodate all the 543 members of Lok Sabha while ensuring adherence to physical distancing norms, the sources said.

The move was discussed in a meeting between Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday.

The same purpose is proposed to be achieved by shifting the sitting of Rajya Sabha to the much bigger chamber of the lower House, the sources said.
