LS polls: Voting begins in 11 states, 3 UTs

New Delhi, Apr 10 (IBNS) Voting in 11 states and three Union Territories (UTs) in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections began on Thursday morning.

Polling is being held across 91 Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi, Kerala, Odisha, western Uttar Pradesh, including riot-hit Muzaffarnagar, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh, plains of Jammu, Maoist-hit Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Haryana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

 
The polling began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm.
 
Thursday's elections will decide the fate of top leaders like union ministers Kamal Nath, Kapil Sibal, Ajit Singh, former BJP president Nitin Gadkari, retired Army chief General VK Singh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates Yogendra Yadav, Ashutosh and Shazia Ilmi.

In Delhi, over 12 million voters exercise their franchise and choose their representatives for seven constituencies between three main political parties - the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the AAP.
