Lucknow : Shia cleric extends support to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh

Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) Prominent Shia cleric and Imam-e-zuma of Lucknow Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad had announced his support for the BJP candidate from the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat to Union home minister Rajnath Singh.

Maulana Jawwad on Saturday said " I have not extended my support to any political party but a particular person Rajnath Singh as everybody desires that good people should be elected to the highest legislature institution of the country.

" Rajnath Singh is a person with impeccable credentials who will never do any wrong with anybody and will never do anything which is divisive and against the larger interest of the society so I have decided to issue an appeal to the people for support the Union home minister’’, said the Maulana Jawwad.

He however added " it’s the discretion of the individual on deciding his/her support for any party and the candidate.

The Shia cleric said " the decision to support Rajnath Singh has been taken with the consent of the Rashtriya Shia Sufi Sangh. Maulana reiterated that " Rashtriya Shia Sufi does not support any particular political party but a particular person who is always available to the common people in their hour of crisis’’.

Maulana Jawwad argued that " the people for the welfare of the country and the communities should support a candidate who is oriented towards serving the people and the nation having a broad based outlook and personality’’. Maulana Jawwad maintained that he had never supported any political party neither will do the same in future.
