Kolkata, Nov 27 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the 'Maan Ki Baat' has now become 'Modi Ki Baat.'

She accused the Centre of misusing government machinery for personal vendetta.

"Maan Ki Baat has now become Modi Ki Baat. Misusing government machinery," Banerjee tweeted.

"Instead of finding solutions to the suffering & pain of millions of people he is doing personal vendetta personal publicity and business," she posted.

The West Bengal CM also accused Modi of ruining Indian economy.

"Modiji, you have finished India's economy and growth. We don't trust you or your mismatched wrong technology which you are advertising for," she accused.

Banerjee said progress is needed but for that no one should be made to suffer.

"We want technology and progress. But no section of society is to be left out and tortured while doing this," she said.

"The women of our country will give you a befitting reply. hey are the mother of India. They are the mother of all, Mr Today's," said she.

Addressing his first 'Mann ki Baat' session after announcing the demonetisation move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reiterated that it will take 50 days for the situation to normalise and appealed to people to opt for cashless transactions.

"When I wanted suggestions from people ahead of this Mann Ki Baat session, most of them wanted me to speak about the Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes ban in detail. I want to repeat again that this was not an easy call. I had told you earlier also that the initiative will put forward lot of troubles. It will take sometime to overcome the problems," Modi said.

"We have been battling with the disease of black money for the last 70 years. The solution to such a prolonged disease can never be an easy one. I understand the problems faced by you and we are working hard to solve the same, " said the PM.

Modi reiterated that the decision to ban high value currency note was taken to benefit the poor section of the society, the farming class and those who had been deprived all along.

The Centre on Nov 8 announced its decision of banning Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
