Maharashtra: Fadnavis expands ministry, Shiv Sena joins
Twenty ministers were sworn in as Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expanded his Council of Ministers.
The oath- taking ceremony was held at Vidhan Bhawan.
A total of 10 cabinet rank ministers, which include five each from the BJP and the Shiv Sena, took oath here.
"Heartiest Congratulations to the newly sworn in Ministers.Let us pledge to work for a Better&Progressive Maharashtra!" Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted.
Fadnavis on Thursday had informed that Sena will join the party's government.
Both the BJP and the Shiv Sena, which were partners for 25 years, had parted ways in Maharashtra over disagreement on the seat-sharing issue just before the Assembly elections that was held last month.
While BJP got most seats in polls, they were short of majority and Congress ally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) decided to unconditionally support the BJP, putting Sena in a sport.
