Maharashtra postpones class 10-12 exams amid rising Covid-19 cases

New Delhi: The Maharashtra government on Monday postponed class10 and 12 examinations amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state.

School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad made the announcement on Twitter.

She also wrote on Twitter: "Given the current #COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we’ve postponed state board exams for class 10th & 12th. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority."

India recorded 1,68,912 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released data on Monday.

During the same period, 904 people also lost their lives due to the virus.

The total death toll due to the disease now stands at 170179.

There are 1201009  active cases in the country at present.

Maharashtra remains the most badly hit nation in the country.
