Major mid-air mishap averted at Aero India show

Bangalore, Feb 19 (IBNS) A major mishap was averted even as one plane hit the wing of the other during a show at the Aero India 2015 here.

Both the flights landed safely but one of them was damaged, reports said.

The wing of one of the planes hit the other while performing a manoeuvre in the mid-air. The entire mishap was caught on camera.

"#AeroIndia2015 Two Aeroplanes of the famous Red Bull Aerobatic team,while performing maneuvers came into contact with each other today," PIB tweeted.

"#AeroIndia2015 Both the pilots are safe but both aircraft suffered a minor damage," it said.

The incident occurred at around 3 pm.

No one was hurt in the mishap.

The airshow later resumed after precautionary check.

"#AeroIndia2015 The airshow has resumed after the precautionary check; The required investigative procedures are being followed," read another tweet posted by the PIB.

Aero India 2015, the biggest air show in Asia, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
