Panaji, Nov 8 (IBNS): Manohar Parrikar resigned as the Chief Minister of Goa on Saturday, media reported.

The development was expected as 58-year-old Parrikar is tipped to take over as India’s next Defence Minister.

BJP Parliamentary Board held discussions on Goa Legislative party's leader and nominations for Rajya Sabha polls in UP, party General Secretary JP Nadda has reportedly told media.

The Board also discussed replacement of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to capital, he added.

Parrikar along with others are going to be inducted to Modi-led Union cabinet in its first expansion drive on Sunday.
