Maya takes on Modi govt, calls its 3-month tenure "disappointing"

Lucknow, Aug 23 (IBNS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Saturday targetted the Narendra Modi government at Centre and said it has failed to fulfill its promises to the common people.
"The three-month tenure of Narendra Modi led NDA government in office has been disappointing, " Mayawati said while speaking to mediapersons in Lucknow.

She said the Modi government has failed to fulfill its promises made to the common people.

"The people who brought Modi to power with absolute majority are becoming hopeless since even after three months the BJP government has failed to fulfill its promises like controlling inflation, generation of employment, control of corruption and to bring the entire Indian economy on right track," she said.

She alleged that the government has not even prepared a roadmap for initiating concrete steps in this direction, adding that "the old disappointment is growing among the people."

Meanwhile, she slammed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and termed it as an "unconstitutional organization."

"The RSS has turned out to be a strong unconstitutional organization. It has become unaccountable under the BJP regime," she said.

Referring to the controversial "Hindu nation" remark by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Mayawati said :"The Hindutva remark made by its leader can cause communal problems."

Bhagwat had stirred a huge controversy recently when he said that India is a Hindu nation and Hindutva is its identity.
