Media distorted remark on Modi: Uma

Jhansi, Apr 2 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti on Wednesday clarified her 'orator' remark against the party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was distorted by the media.

"The media distorted my remark on Modi. I did not say anything in a negative way. I was just voicing my assessment," said Bharti.

"Earlier also, I had said the LK Advani (BJP patriarch) is not a good orator," she said.

Bharti on Tuesday said BJP veteran and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a better orator than Modi.

"Vajpayee is the best orator of our party. Nobody can match up to his oratory skills in Indian politics. Even Modi is not as good as him," Bharti said addressing party workers here.

"There are huge crowds at Modi's rallies. But nobody comes to listen to his speeches. They come to show him their support," she said.

Bharti will contest the Lok Sabha election from the Jhansi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
