Srinagar, Mar 28 (IBNS): Fresh western disturbances in quick succession are likely to affect Jammu & Kashmir and adjoining areas from Saturday evening to April 4 with occasional gaps, Met officials said in a weather warning.
According to the Met department, moderate to heavy rain/snow will occur at most
places in Jammu and Kashmir region and at a few places in Ladakh region.

Isolated places in the region may receive heavy rain/snow and mainly on 29th, 1st and 3rd, it said.

The Met Department also advised farmers to avoid spraying of orchards and drain out excess water from the fields during these periods.

"These weather conditions can trigger landslides and flash floods in vulnerable areas of the state like the national Highway", the advisory said.

During this period, the bad weather may disrupt the rail and air traffic as well, the advisory added.
