Middle class will not be taxed extra for NYAY scheme: Rahul Gandhi

Pune, Apr 5 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday assured that middle class won't be taxed extra to fund for 'nyuntam aay yojana' (NYAY) scheme.

Speaking during an interaction with students across Pune’s colleges and varsities, Rahul said: "I want to guarantee you that money for NYAY will not come from middle class and income tax will not be raised."

The Congress president on Tuesday reiterated his NYAY scheme, which will help people attain minimum income of Rs. 12,000 per month.

"The money for NYAY will come from the people who have dominated the banking system," said he.

Over 4000 students gathered for Rahul's interaction at Pune’s Mahalaxmi lawns in Hadapsar.

The event was moderated by RJ Malishka and actor Subodh Bhave.

On poor health sector of the present government, Rahul said: "Government today has given up its responsibility for healthcare and education."

"We will put in more money into these sectors and build high quality institutions at district and block levels," said he.
