Srinagar, Oct 24 (IBNS): Suspected militants on Monday evening opened fire on cops guarding the residence of a PDP minister in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, police said

Local Reports said that suspected militants opened fire on guards posted at the residence of Works Minister Abdul Rehman Bhat in Veeri village of Bijbehara.

"Militants opened fire on Rehman house on Monday evening. Soon after the attack, they fled from spot by taking advantage of darkness," said senior police officer.

However it was not confirmed whether the minister was at home.
