Minister's PSO escapes with rifles

Srinagar, Mar 28 (IBNS) Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a massive hunt for a personal security officer (PSO) of Peoples Democratic Party senior leader and Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari as he fled away along with two rifles, official said.

A police official told IBNS: "One Policeman namely Nisar Ahmad Mir No. 221/Sec and a resident of Karimabad, Pulwama is missing from his
place of posting at Sheikhabad, Srinagar along two AK-47 since yesterday. He was recruited into police department in 2007."

The police has registered a case in connection with the matter with the Kotibagh Police Station  and have started
further investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the police have issued an alert, asking all security establishments across the Valley to remain vigilant for any possible
attack.

A high level meeting of officers was convened to discuss the issue threadbare and formularize strategy to nab the cop.

An FIR has been lodged against him and a massive manhunt has begun to nab him," he added.
