Modi, Amir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani agree to celebrate 50 years of India-Qatar diplomatic relations in 2023
New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi has spoken to Amir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar and thanked him for his gracious Diwali greetings.
Modi has also conveyed his best wishes for a successful FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Qatar will host the World Cup this year.
The two leaders agreed to jointly celebrate 50 years of India-Qatar diplomatic relations in 2023.
Modi tweeted: "Was happy to speak with HH Amir @TamimBinHamad of Qatar. Thanked him for his gracious Diwali greetings, and conveyed best wishes for a successful @FIFAWorldCup in Qatar. We agreed to jointly celebrate 50 yrs of India-Qatar diplomatic relations in 2023.
