Modi joins debate on triple talaq

Mahoba, Oct 24 (IBNS):Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday joined the debate on triple talaq as he said the lives of Muslim women could not be ruined by the practice.

Modi said while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh: "Tell me what is the crime of my Muslim sisters that some one says talaq over phone and her life is going to be destroyed."

He said": "Lives of Muslim women cannot be ruined by triple talaq."

Modi arrived in Mahoba in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday to address a 'parivartan rally' as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) election campaign in the state.
