Modi should be sent to Pakistan: Lalu Prasad
Patna, May 1 (IBNS): Launching an attack on Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate should be sent to Pakistan.
His statement was a reaction to Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan's statement on Wednesday that if Modi is elected s the Prime Minister of India, it will destabilise the region.
"Send Narendra Modi to Pakistan and then only any question of destabilisation will arise. His people talk about sending others to Pakistan, we should send him instead," Lalu Prasad told mediapersons in Patna.
His comments were also meant to take a dig at BJP leader Giriraj Singh, who had said in an election speech that all opponents of Modi should be sent to Pakistan.
Reacting to his comments, BJP's Nirmala Sitharaman said, "They are rattled by the presence of Modi. The impact that Modi made in Bihar rattled them."
Earlier on Tuesday, Lalu Prasad created a political controversy by saying even a butcher is shy of Narendra Modi.
"After what he has done in Gujarat (during 2002 riots), even a butcher is shy of Narendra Modi. Will the people make this person the Prime Minister of India?" Lalu Prasad said.
Meanwhile, Modi on Wednesday tweeted: "Cong (Congress) got Lalu ji released from jail but top Cong leaders are avoiding sharing stage with him in rallies. People can see through these games."
