Modi, Sonia, Kejriwal address Delhi poll rallies
New Delhi, Feb 1 (IBNS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, are addressing various rallies on Sunday in the national capital as the Delhi poll campaign heated up.
Amid a different national scene, Delhi Assembly elections will be held on Feb. 7 as the election is necessitated when former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned on Feb 14 last year after remaining in power for 49 days over the Jan Lokpal Bill.
While Sonia Gandhi addressed a rally slamming the Modi government and said the AAP the people voted had ran away too, Modi began speaking a rally at Dwarka claiming they have already solved the problem of water in the region.
Sonia said farmers are struggling for their rights and the government is making laws to usurp their land.
She said Congress had worked hard to make Delhi a great city.
Modi on the other hand said the Opposition is resorting too much lies to campaign for themselves.
"They are making fool of people with a simple face," said Modi.
Modi also attacked AAP and Kejriwal for running away from the government.
"You have to understand the suffering of people minutely and not run away. Delhi needs a responsible government, a government which is sensitive," said Modi.
Modi said the people gave me a lot and now "I have to return that with interest."
"Give me a chance to serve you," he said as he slammed the AAP for running a government that is only looking for TV coverage with its agitations.
"I am seeking your blessings today," he said.
He said the prices of petrol and diesel have come down and people now have some savings.
He said with the prices coming down, the Opposition said I am just lucky. "If indeed I have luck then let a lucky person share his luck with your and the savings will go to you only," said Modi.
