More than 100 cops suspended in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Mar 24 (IBNS) : Just days after the Yogi Adityanath Government came to power, the Uttar Pradesh police have suspended more than 100 cops in one of the biggest administrative crackdown in recent times, reports said.

The mass suspension   followed directives issued by DGP Javeed Ahmed, who was asked by the Chief Minister to prepare a blueprint for better policing.

According to reports, most of the suspensions were in Ghaziabad, Meerut and Noida.

In Lucknow, seven inspectors have been suspended.

A spokesman of UP police said this is part of the measure to   identify the black sheep and take exemplary action against them.

Immediately after assuming office, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promised to bring in a lot many changes in state, arresting crimes and stopping evils like eve teasing, among other things.
