Jammu, Mar 12 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Thursday chaired his first meeting of the Unified Headquarters, the state's top security network, in Jammu and sought cooperation from the Army, Police and the Civil Administration in creating a peaceful environment.

He sought their cooperation to enable the new government to implement its agenda of good governance and development.

He stressed upon the need for adopting a humane approach while dealing with law-and-order situations and exercising zero tolerance towards human rights' violations.

"The polls have been held in a very conducive atmosphere. We need to build upon the dividends for putting in place an effective and vibrant governance mechanism for seeking all-round development of the three regions for converting J&K into a self-reliant State," he added.

Terming the formation of the new government as a historic opportunity to usher in a new era for sustained peace and equitable development, the Chief Minister said the new dispensation will give its people an honest and accountable Government and implement its agenda of the alliance.

"The people's mandate has been historic and we have come together to change their future," said he.
