Mumbai/IBNS: Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze who was arrested in connection with his alleged role in Mukesh Ambani security scare cases was taken to Mithi river in Bandra West by sleuths on Sunday evening to recover evidence that he allegedly tried to get rid of, said media reports.

Divers recovered a hard disk and a number of car plates which were thrown in the river, an NDTV report said.

Several objects were fished out from the river, including a CPU, two number plates that read MH20FP 1539, and a hard drive, the report added.

The NIA told a special court that Sachin Vaze had a considerable amount of unexplained ammunition in his house and only five of the 30 bullets given for his service revolver were recovered, stated the report.

The probe agency told the court that Vaze was not conceding where the rest of the service bullets were.

Sachin Vaze is being also investigated for his alleged involvement in the disappearance and death of Hiran Mansukh, a 45-year-old auto parts dealer, whose SUV loaded with 20 gelatin sticks and a threat letter was found near Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani's residence on February 25.

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and National Investigation Agaency (NIA) had found the CCTV footage which showed Vaze with Hiran on the day when the Scorpio went missing.

They met near the General Post Office for about ten minutes inside a black Mercedes-Benz, which was also traced to Vaze.

Hiran went missing on the night of March 4 and his body was found in a creek in Thane, the next day.
