Mumbai: AIDS patient kills one in hospital

Mumbai, May 13 (IBNS) A 42-year-old man, who was undergoing treatment for AIDS and renal failure at a private hospital in Mumbai, allegedly attacked other patients killing one and injuring another, said reports on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the general ward of the Bombay Hospital on Monday.

The police said the attacker on Monday suddenly hit his co-patient Lilabihari Thakur on head with an iron IV ((intravenous) stand.

Thakur, 65, was undergoing treatment for tuberculosis and was to be discharged on Monday. But he died of his injuries, said the police.

Another patient, Prafulchand Parmar, 70, and his relative, who was visiting him, Janardhan Atre, were also injured in the attack.

 
The motive behind the attack is yet unknown, said the police.
