Mumbai: Six industrial sheds gutted in fire

| @indiablooms | Jun 21, 2019, at 05:45 pm

Palghar, June 21 (UNI) A massive fire reportedly erupted on Thursday in the Merchant industrial estate at Valiv Naka in Vasai town of this district, informed the Fire Brigade on Friday.

No casualty was reported apart from monetary loss as the blaze gutted at least six industrial sheds of three companies, stated Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVMC) Fire Officer Kishore Patil.

Patil said that the fire erupted shortly before midnight on Thursday and was doused at 0600 hours on Friday and added that six fire engines were deployed to control the blaze.

The firefighting operation was stretched as plastic lamination paper rolls and chemicals were stored in the sheds, these substances hindered the task, he mentioned.

He further said that the gutted industrial sheds were housed in a one plus one structure, in which there are around 20-25 such sheds.

The exact cause of the disaster is yet to be ascertained, he added.
