Kohima, Jul 19 (IBNS) : The Nagaland Assembly was adjourned sine die on Wednesday after Chief Minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu did not turn up for the floor test to prove majority in the House, reports said.

Governor r P B Acharya had asked Liezietsu to prove majority after former Chief Minister  T R Zeliang claimed he has the support of 43 MLAs of the Nagaland People's Front in the 59-member House.

Zeliang was present in the  House with his followers when the Speaker said the proceedings  would be reported to the Governor.

Earlier, the Kohima bench of the Gauhati High Court dismissed the CM’s plea to stay the Governor’s directive asking him to go through a floor test.

Zeliang had to resign  in February following protests over holding of urban local bodies election with 33 per cent reservation for women.

He is now enjoying the support of four  BJP legislators and Nagaland BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu besides many party MLAs in the intra-party tussle for the power.
