Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio chairs monsoon preparedness meet

Kohima/IBNS: A monsoon preparedness meeting was held through video conference under the chairmanship of Nagaland Chief Minister and Chairman NSDMA, Neiphiu Rio at CM’s Secretariat on Wednesday.         

The meeting was attended by Ministers, AHODs/HODs of the line departments and DCs & Chairman DDMA.

In his opening remark, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of being well prepared to face the monsoon months from June to September 2021 in order to avert any major disaster during the erratic monsoon season in Nagaland, so as to save the lives and state infrastructures like roads and buildings.

Briefing on the monsoon based on the metrological data was made by NSDMA, monsoon preparedness of roads was given by PWD (R&B) department, emergency operation and response preparedness were made by HG&CD/SRDF, while monsoon preparedness measures in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic was presented by the Health & Family Welfare and monsoon preparedness and availability of essential commodities was highlighted by Food & Civil Supplies department.
