New Delhi, Aug 8 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held discussions with Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the Kashmir issue after the opposition launched a scathing attack on him for being 'silent 'over the prevailing situation in the state and demanded a statement from him, reports said.

Raising the issue, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged that the Government seems to be watching a 'tamasha' (fun game) as the Kashmir valley is burning with no action being taken to control the situation.

"Government should not think that this is simply a law & order situation.  All party delegation should visit Kashmir," he said.

Joining him, Sitaram Yrchury of the CPI(M) said :  "An all party delegation needs to be sent to Jammu & Kashmir. PM needs to respond on the atrocities civilians are facing."

Responding on behalf of the Government, Minister of state for Parliamentary Affairs, Mukhta Abbas Naqvi said the Government is ready for a discussion on unrest in J&K.

Kashmir has been in a fresh turmoil since the encounter death of Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani as incidents of clash between protesters and security forces are being reported almost everyday. The incidents have already left about 50 people dead.

Meanwhile, a Srinagar report said hndreds of youngsters waving Pakistani flags and wearing bandana with Burhan Wani's pictures in south Kashmir's Kulgam district and raised pro-Azadi, pro-Pakistan slogans.
