NIA detains gangster Dawood Ibrahim's associate Salim Qureshi

Mumbai: The NIA on Monday detained gangster Dawood Ibrahim's associate Salim Qureshi, alias Salim Fruit, after carrying out a raid at his residence in south Mumbai.

Fruit, who is the caretaker of the Dawood Ibrahim's properties in Mumbai, was earlier summoned two times by the Enforcement Directorate in a case involving black money.

Some important documents related to Benami properties owned by the gangster were seized from Salim's residence, sources told UNI.

Raids at several locations in Mumbai linked to gangster Dawood Ibrahim's associates and a few hawala operators are underway by the NIA.
