New Delhi/IBNS: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday registered a case to probe the recent terror attack in a Gurdwara in Afghanistan's Kabul.

On Mar 25, unknown gunmen stormed into a Gurudwara in Shor Bazar area in Kabul and fired indiscriminately killing 27 people and injuring several others.

An Indian citizen, identified as Tian Singh of Delhi, was also among the deceased.

There were some 150 people inside the gurudwara at that point.

Earlier, the offshoot of the Islamic State terror group, ISIS Khurasan, claimed that the attack on Sikh temple in Kabul was carried out by Abu Khalild al-Hindi, reported Khaama Press.

NIA in its statement revealed that terror outfit Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) is responsible for the attack.

As per its preliminary investigation, the NIA said one Muhsin from Trikkaripur, Kasargod in Kerala and others who joined this group are responsible for the attack.

This is NIA's first case after recent amendments of the NIA Act, that empowers the probe agency to investigate terror cases outside India affecting Indian citizens.
