Kolkata, July 10 (IBNS): The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) on Monday midnight arrested a Nigerian woman for carrying contraband drugs at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI-CCU) airport, officials said.

According to reports, the 30-year-old citizen of Nigeria, who has been identified as David Blessing, was held after she reached Kolkata airport from Mumbai by a Jet Airways flight.

During search, as many as 20 LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) blot papers were seized from her possession while NCB's lady officials recovered 12 grams of cocaine from the Nigerian's anus.

"During interrogation, the Nigerian lady, who has been staying in Mumbai for nearly three years, confessed that more contraband narcotics are hidden inside her private part (genital)," an NCB official told IBNS. She was rushed to a nearby hospital at Chinar Park area.

"After doing her x-ray, we found the presence of more contrabands in her uterus," the official added.

Doctors of the hospital said that exact position and condition of the contraband inside her uterus would be confirmed only after completing the woman's transvaginal ultrasonography.

"A surgery may be needed to take out the narcotics of her uterus. After getting test reports, we will decide our next step," a doctor said. An official of Kolkata NCB said that carrying narcotics inside private parts or uterus is very risky.

"If the woman is carrying cocaine blocks inside her uterus and if one of the capsules ruptures there, it could be lethal," the NCB officer told IBNS.

"We are suspecting that the woman is a part of drug peddling racket and we will interrogate her to identify others involved in the racket," he added.
