New Delhi, Feb 6 (IBNS): The Delhi High Court on Friday gave its verdict in the Nitish Katara murder case where it sentenced Vishal and Vikas Yadav to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment.

The duo has been  fined Rs 50 lakh each.

The court, however, rejected the plea for death sentence to Vikas and Vishal Yadav.

Nitish Katara's mother Neelam Katara told media: "We respect the verdict given by the court. We will petition in the SC."

The arguments on sentence against the convicts ended on Dec 8 last year.

Vikas along with his cousin Vishal Yadav and Sukhdev Pehelwan are now serving life term for abducting and killing Katara.

Katara was a business executive and the son of an IAS officer. The trio had abducted murdered him on the night of February 16-17, 2002 as they opposed Katara’s affair with Bharti, daughter of DP Yadav.
