No blockade by India on Nepal, either official or unofficial: MEA
New Delhi, Oct 8 (IBNS): External Affairs Ministry (MEA) spokesperson Vikas Swarup on Thursday said that there is no blockade by India on Nepal, either official or unofficial.
"In fact all border posts remain open. There are long lines of trucks and containers waiting to enter Nepal," he said clearing an air on the issue.
He also said that everyday a number of trucks enter Nepal from various border crossings.
Swarup also made it clear that whatever is the issue, it is from the Nepal side.
This comes as the Madhesi Community is carrying out a blockade at India-Nepal border to protest against the Nepal government.
The community is protesting with a demand that the government recognises Madhesi's rights as they are protesting for their share in the newly adopted constitution by Nepal.
