No need to come: ED tells Sharad Pawar who planned to visit probe agency office
Mumbai: Hours before his planned visit to the Enforcement Directorate (ED)'s office over the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has been asked by the probe agency not to visit its office, media reports said.
The ED said it will call Pawar if needed.
Though the ED didn't summon Pawar, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister decided to visit the office of the probe agency on Friday.
Police have banned large gatherings in the city anticipating protests from the NCP supporters.
However, Pawar has urged his party men not to gather in front of the ED office.
He tweeted, "I appeal to all my NCP cadre and supporters not to gather near the ED office premises. Keeping our tradition to honour the constitution and respect for institutions, I request your co-operation to the police and other government agencies."

The ED has registered a money laundering case against Pawar, his nephew Ajit Pawar and several other politicians in MSCB scam of worth Rs. 25,000 crore.
Pawar, a key opposition leader in the Maharashtra politics right now, has been named in the case with just few weeks left for the state polls which will be held in October.
