"Modi Babu, public are not beggars of your Government. Why are there still restrictions on cash withdrawal ?," Banerjee tweeted.

The Chief Minister said: "Governments may come into power but they just cannot snatch people’s economic rights."

The 50-day deadline set by the Centre to submit old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes ended on Friday.

The Centre on Nov 8 banned old Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 currency notes.
