Note ban: TMC leaders meet President Pranab Mukherjee
The TMC said the situaion in the country following the move was like 'super-emergency'.
The TMC leaders staged a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan at the end of their three-day nationwide anti-demonetisation stir.
In its Memorandum to the President, the party said: "Sir, as the custodian of the Constitution of our country, we appeal to you to intervene to take care of our people and save them from harm. We look to you, Sir, to bring an end to this unprecedented super-emergency."
Speaking to reporters, after meeting the President, TMC MP Saugata Roy said the party will continue to fight for the people of the nation.
"Our MPs are being hounded. Our fight will continue for the rights of the people," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Nov 8 announced the move of banning old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
