Omar Abdullah slams Centre, Congress over issue of attack on Kashmiris

| @indiablooms | Feb 21, 2019, at 03:37 pm

Srinagar, Feb 21 (IBNS): Amid reports that Kashmir students were targeted in several parts of the country following the Pulwama attack, former state CM Omar Abdullah on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Congress party for not making any comments on the incidents.

Omar said attacks on Kashmiri students will lead to 'alienation'.

"There was no condemnation from PM on Kashmiri students being attacked, if he was busy Home Minister could've said something. Even Congress was not saying anything comforting. We need a statesman not a politician," Omar told media.

Omar said Kashmiri students have nothing to do with politics.

"Kashmiris are being targeted. our children who are studying in universities have nothing to do with politics, they just want education," he said.

Omar said incidents like the Pulwama attack should not take place.

The Centre had issued an advisory to all states and Union Territories in the matter to ensure the safety of the Kashmiris.
