Open to anyone who would like to join Congress in Rajasthan: Gehlot

| @indiablooms | Dec 11, 2018, at 01:12 pm

Jaipur, Dec 11 (IBNS): Despite claiming a clean victory in Rajasthan, Congress' veteran leader Ashok Gehlot has said his party is open to defectors as well as independent winners.

As per latest trend, the Congress is leading in 94 seats but yet to touch the majority mark (100). The BJP is leading in 82 seats.

Speaking with reporters, Gehlot, who is a potent Chief Minister of the state, said: "We will get majority. But if anyone from the BJP or Independents come, we will accept."

He also praised Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the day when the Congress, not only in Rajasthan but also in Chhattisgarh, performed better than the BJP. The Congress and BJP are having a neck-to-neck fight in Madhya Pradesh, whose poll results are also coming out on Tuesday.

Gehlot said: "Rahul Gandhi had cornered in Gujarat which was Narendra Modi and Amit Shah's home state. Since then, Modi could not answer to any of our questions."

Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot also said the party is in touch with independent candidates who are set to win.
