Opposition parties protest against BJP government outside parliament

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS): A line of opposition leaders have joined in a protest against the BJP government outside the parliament, which will have its last day on Wednesday ahead of the forthcoming General Elections due to be held by May.

The Congress is protesting on the issue of Rafale after the latest The Hindu report claimed the deal of buying fighter jets from France made by the Narendra Modi government was not on "better terms" than the UPA regime.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are present at the protest.

On the other hand, the TMC is protesting against the CBI, which recently had a standoff with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over chit fund cases.

Banerjee, who is presently in the national capital, held a sit-in protest (dharna) after several CBI officials went to interrogate Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar in connection with the cases.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, which is a former ally of BJP, is also protesting outside the parliament.

Later in the day, a galaxy of opposition leaders are expected to be present at a dharna which will be hosted by Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief, Arvind Kejriwal.

However, it is not clear whether the Congress will join in Kejriwal-hosted dharna as the two parties are rivals in Delhi politics.
