Pakistan summons Deputy High Commissioner over civilian killing

Islamabad, Sept 18 (IBNS): Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday said the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh was summoned to protest against the killings of three civilians in Nikial sector 'due to the unprovoked Ceasefire violations by the Indian Security Forces' at the Line of Control.

"The Shaheed include Munshi Ameen, Liaba Shahbir, a 13 year old girl and Mohammad Zahid," the Ministry said in a statement.

"The Government of Pakistan has expressed its deep concern at the continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian Security Forces and the intentional targeting of innocent civilians, which is high condemnable," read the statement.

"Pakistan has stressed upon India to stop forthwith these Ceasefire violations and respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement in order to restore peace and tranquility at the LoC and the Working Boundary," it said.

Meanwhile, one Indian fisherman was killed allegedly in Pakistani firing at in international waters off the Gujarat coast on Friday, media reports said.

The Indian national was identified as Iqbal Abdul Bhatti.

The boat is named Premraj, reports said.

The Indian coast guard are rushing to the spot of the mishap.
