Picture row: Arrest warrant issued against Dhoni

Anantapur,June 24 (IBNS): A local court in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against World Cup-winning Indian skipper MS Dhoni for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of people belonging to the Hindu community.

The court issued the order on a complaint filed by  a local leader, who reportedly belonged to a Hindu right-wing organisation, last year.

The court issued the order after Dhoni did not appear before it despite several summons being served in connection to the case in the past.

The case is  connected to a picture published on the cover page of a magazine where the Indian cricket team skipper was shown as Hindu God Vishnu.

Dhoni is currently in England for India's tour to the country to play Tests and limited overs matches.
