PM Modi arrives in Brazil to attend BRICS Summit, hails Indian community for 'warm welcome'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday to participate in the BRICS Summit.

He is also on a state visit to Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

"Landed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I will take part in the BRICS Summit and later go to their capital, Brasília, for a state visit on the invitation of President Lula. Hoping for a productive round of meetings and interactions during this visit," he wrote in apost on X.

He lauded the Indian community in Brazil for their warm welcome extended to him in Rio de Janeiro.

PM Modi said that it is amazing how they remain connected with Indian culture and are also very passionate about India’s development.

In an X post, the Prime Minister said, "Members of Brazil’s Indian community gave a very vibrant welcome in Rio de Janeiro. It’s amazing how they remain connected with Indian culture and are also very passionate about India’s development! Here are some glimpses from the welcome…"

He arrived in Brazil after a "productive" visit to Argentina.
