Menlo Park, California, Sept 27 (IBNS) From expressing his dream of making India a 20 trillion dollar economy and breaking down while talking about the struggles faced by his mother, Indian PM Narendra Modi visited the Facebook headquarters and attended a Facebook Townhall Q&A session on Sunday.

Modi met Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg  who hosted the  Q&A session.

Modi, who uses social networking sites regularly to express his views on numerous issues, said it is agreed today that India is the fastest growing economy.

"Today, India is an 8 trillion dollar economy and I dream to make India a 20 trillion dollar economy," Modi said.

He said social media is playing a huge role in governance.

"We are bringing technology into governance in a very big way," Modi said.

Speaking on the issue of diplomacy, Modi said,"You asked me about diplomacy. Earlier it was capitals connecting, like Delhi and Washington, or Delhi Tokyo. Now people are connected...China has a different social media structure but still I am active there also and I communicate with the people of China."

Modi said: "When I joined social media I never imagined I will be PM...it was about my curiosity towards technology."

Inviting investments in India, Modi said: "I don't think there is a shortage of money in the world. Countries may not know where to put their money so I am calling them to India."

Modi said: "I am reducing government. Apart from demography, democracy and demand, I believe in a 4th D, that of de-regulation."

Modi broke down as he talked about the struggles faced by his mother.

"There are so many parents who have sacrificed their own lives to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of their children," Modi said.

"A mother will never want you to become something, she will think about how you will achieve that," he said.

Modi also met Zuckerberg's parents who attended the session.

Saying that he is excited about India and impressed the way Modi used social media , Mark Zuckerberg said, "I am personally impressed by example PM Narendra Modi has set in using social media to directly communicate with citizens."
