Osaka (Japan), June 28 (UNI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired the Informal Meeting of the RIC - Russia, India and China framework here on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

The meeting was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

In his opening remarks Prime Minister said the interactions at the level of the leadership of these countries to discuss on global issues are of immense importance.

"Our Trilateral meeting will discuss about global and economic issues and also try to help strike a right balance," he said.

The Foreign Ministers of the three countries had earlier this year met in China and had also discussed about crucial issues, he pointed out.

The international hotspot issues and counter terrorism had figured prominently during the meeting, Modi said.
