PM Modi pays tributes to Rajiv Gandhi on birth anniversary

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
"I pay my tributes to India's former PM Shri Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary," Modi tweeted.

Rajiv Gandhi, who joined politics after her mother Indira Gandhi's assassination, as served as Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989.

He was assassinated by the LTTE on May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. 
 
Rajiv Gandhi was born on August 20, 1944.
