New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished for the speedy recovery of his predecessor Manmohan Singh, who has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for fever and weakness.

“I pray for the good health and speedy recovery of Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji,” tweeted Modi a day after Singh was admitted to hospital on Wednesday evening.

According to AIIMS officials, Manmohan Singh's health is “stable”.

Earlier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited the hospital to enquire about the health of the 89-year-old Congress leader.

“Today met former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji at AIIMS, New Delhi and inquired about his health. I wish him a speedy recovery,” he tweeted.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also prayed for his good health.

“I pray for the speedy recovery and good health of former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh ji,” he tweeted.

Earlier in April, Singh was admitted to AIIMS after he had the COVID-19 infection.
