New Delhi, Nov 12 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reached London as a part of his bilateral visit to the United Kingdom.
"Hello London! PM @narendramodi arrives in United Kingdom for 1st bilateral visit by an Indian PM in almost a decade," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

He was received by a host of dignitaries.

Before leaving for the UK, PM Modi said he hoped that his three-day visit to the UK will strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

He hoped that his visit will also bring more investment to India.

"Leaving for UK. I am hopeful this visit will strengthen economic ties between India and UK & bring more investment to India. #makeinindia," Modi tweeted.

In London, Modi is expected to hold a series of meetings with industry leaders, address the Indian community at a huge reception at Wembly, UK's largest stadium, and lunch with the Queen of England.

Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the UK in almost a decade. Manmohan Singh had visited London in 2006.
