PM rejects Smriti Irani's choice for CBSE chief

New Delhi, Jul 13 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejected the selection of Dr. Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh as the chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the media reported on Wednesday.
The prime minister heads the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which rejected the name.
 
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, under Smriti Irani, had made this selection.
 
According to media reports, the entire process of selection has been taken off the control of the HRD ministry.

Since December 2014,the CBSE has been without a regular full-time chairman.
